Sometimes a song comes to me out of the blue, and I really don't understand the inspiration but the song needs me to write it. I actually wrote this before hostilities broke out in Ukraine. war brings massive changes to the world, and yet people still manage to find love amidst the chaos...

Verse 1:
On the last night of the war
nothing fills the sky but silence
While  we lie here by the shore
breathing so soft and warm and quiet

Verse 2:
On the last night of the war
moonbeams shine across still water
the big ships will fight no more
moored in the bay, all done with slaughter

Chorus:
Leave a place in your thoughts
and please remember me.
Leave a place in your heart
to keep me close to you.
'cause the winds of change will blow us all to who knows where or when
Ahhhhh  Ahhhhhh
I can only hope someday to find you again.

Verse 3:
On the last night of the war
all the guns grow cold at long last
Oh, can you recall "before"?
a future grim, will now, be recast
(to chorus)

Bridge:
And between all the death and chaos
finding your love seems so unreal
all of the peace I found here in your arms
gave me some time to heal.

Chorus:
Hold a place in your thoughts
and please remember me.
Leave a place in your heart
to keep me close to you.
'cause the winds of change will blow us all to who knows where or when
Ahhhhh  Ahhhhhh
I can only hope someday to find you again.

No comments so far, maybe  for the reason that music starts at 50 second spot?

Anyway, really fine song of an important issue. It's so sad what happened on 24th of Feb '22. Fortunately, the western world joined together to give aid to Ukraine. I hope it continues until the last orc is back to russia...

Beautiful composition and lyrics. The strings are icing on the cake. Enjoyable listening!

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Really nice track Mark/Vance, really enjoyed that. lovely chords and melody. War... it really affects me deeply, but I suppose it does most people. The depths humanity can go too are really painful to hear about, but what a great idea for a tune to let the spirit of love win over. Great tune.
