I must admit I was writing a new song and I thought 'This seems familiar'. Then I realised I was writing "Last Train to Clarksville"!! I thought 'shit' and then thought I'd cover if for the hell of it. Written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, of course.

Not a big Monkees fan so I prefer the moodier vibe you've given this !

The only thing I hate more than realizing I'm writing a song that's already been written is not realizing it until someone points it out to me. I, too, am digging your kind of laid back, moody take. I actually think it would be fun to play this one rocked out, too. But seriously digging your take.

Was just watching a documentary about the monkeys recently.
What a situation, producers wouldn't let them play on the albums, used session musicians.
Which really passed them off as they all felt capable.
This sounds more laid back than the original, a different groove.
Nice one.

Love your twist on this. John and I still bust out "Pleasant Valley Sunday" by Carole King and Gerry Goffin once in a while.

GREAT background vocals, especially the doo doo doo part. What a fun ride.

Hey Ron, I thought I had commented on this one, but apparently not. They say the mind is the first thing to go and I don't remember the second thing, lol. A cool version of this classic Monkees' hit song. You did some good vocal work and guitar on this cover!

Always love your expert guitar track, and your vocals is so nice.
I am not familiar with this classic, and I love your version!
Thank you!!!
