Well I heard Johnny's tune Funk before the weekend but I was away so couldn't get to it till today.Hopefully not too much waffle thanks John Hope you like it
Hit hit

 Mama said to me Boy
You've reached the age Of 23
and its time you got gone
And left your mama be
Get out there and sing to those ladies your sweet song
Move those feet and move that dance along
Get gone
Get gone

So I moved on out the door , from mama's to the fifth floor
Some groovy pad with the city under my feet it was reall top draw
I got myself all dressed up and smelling pretty sweet
Got my self down to  the nightclub and impressed girls
 with my feet
I got it on
Yeh I got gone
I'm moving on yeah!

Break

Well I tapped the tune with my feet and wrung the rhythm from of the song
Held my arms out to entice this young  girl to come along
Once I had in my arms the song became our song
We danced all night till the night was gone
We got it on yeah
We got it on
We got it on

Love was in the air there seemed plenty to spare
All those enticing looks started a story to fill a book

It was love
This was love huh
This was love

I took her hand I took her home to sing that lady my sweet song
I took her home so we could get it on

I took her home so we got it on
We got it on

The light was dark we couldn't  see when we we first got in doors
I moved the settee put on a little music took her to the new dance floor
We held each other tight under that bright moon light
Her eyes shone like diamonds oh what a night
Then we got it on
Then we got out on
We got it on

It seemed  like love was on repeat
The night just went suddenly we were Eat the door saying our goodbye

She was gone
She was gone

Like a dream
Like a dream

When I tap the tune out with my feet
It was like a magic spell
All the women seemed to fall into hell
I soon come to realise ,this  was not love
It was just a young mans lust
I was getting it on
And I  Was gone
Getting it on
I was gone
Getting it on
Gone

Well night after night the girls just come along
Suddenly they were just bodies that filled up my song
I couldn't name them
I'd lost count   Suddenly I was lonely
I'd realised what life
What life was really about
It was love
But I couldn't find it
I Couldn't find it
I Couldn't find that love
All I could find was that lust
There was plenty of lust
But I wanted love
I wanted love
I wanted love
 I wanted love

Well the day finally came
This lady came along
It weren't no nightclub stepping that introduced her to my song
It was conversation
she was a women I wanted to know
This lady was real
She was alive with a glow
She wasn't  to be lead she did what she want
Now I knew what was mean't by that word love
I was in  love
I'd fell love
I was in  love
I'd found l love
Well she became my wife
Now I'm 54
She'd never ever argue we've never slammed the door
We got children
Grand kids too
I couldn't tell you what this woman's done to me
but I tell you what
I know what love is
I tell you what
I know what love is
We got it on
We got it on
We got it on

yes, who can write lyrics like these?  A bit toward a Tony C song perhaps but this really cooks musically and vocally...

the lyrics are inspired and I am guessing that it is based somewhat on actual events in the (a/an) authors life although it would neither be confirmed nor denied...

love it Trev and JM!
