Wrote something with more of a bluesy folk-rock vibe to it.  Acoustic guitar open tuning of EBDGAD. Hope you'll give it a listen.

Tattered Rose      words & music: Vance Grazio    c 2023

A tattered rose, lying at my feet
Petals flying off the bloom a stem of thorns remain like jagged teeth
An open wound, in a salty sea,
Stings to hear just what you want and find out in the end, it wasn't me

Through all the smoke and haze, I claw my way, one step each day
We all think we could evolve, and find our way back home

Where a frozen hand, from a missing glove
Reaches through the dark divide forever flying blind, in search of love
Lost lover's song, nobody hears
Words obscure the melody that melts into the dark and disappears

I don't want to be alone
Please don't leave me here alone,.............. like a tattered rose

With a tattered rose, lying at my feet
Petals flying off the bloom a stem of thorns remain like jagged teeth
Petals flying off the bloom a stem of thorns remain, cutting deep
"Play because you love it. Don't worry about if it will ever make any money, just understand that playing is an end in itself, and you play music, it will make your life better. And, don't worry about being a star, don't worry about making money, worry about nothing, just sit down with your guitar and let it speak to you and that will make your life better. It will bring beauty into your life. It's a great thing to do."     ---- David Crosby

This is so good! The open tuning rings out in full honors. When the harmony vocals enter, they are every bit as good as CS&N. I dig that organ. Cool vocals and lyrics.

I heard this on repeat..... after about listening to half of it, I left my elliptical and pressed the repeat button.

this is remin of the great songs of late 60's early 70's.... those bands like CSN&Y etc.... it is very west coast and a really delightful sound.
nice theme... I love the organ too so much... that makes this a notch above because almost no one does that any more.... that hammond sound with the swirl...against the lead... wonderful stuff.

Great track excellently produced and performed. Love the sound of that opening acoustic with the unconventional tuning and great poetic lyrics. Vocal work is stellar and love the sinister vibe of the song.
