Hi all, a little bit of Country nonsense but looking from a different point of view. Hope you enjoy.
Willie

Epiphone Goldtop Les Paul. Fender Precision. Gretsch G5420T
She looked in the mirror
Refreshed her lipstick again
She stood in the hall
And waited for a call that never came
The taxi was waiting, was she mistaken
And got the wrong day again
She sent him away
But he still made her pay
And she cries, she cried

She looked in the mirror
And saw the lines on her face
But the tear drops were drying
And she soon stopped crying
It was such a waste
She was let down
By the man she thought was her last chance
Self pity was something
That had no place in her heart
She may start

It's happened before
But she won't let it happen again
She was wounded right down to the core
She might go insane

Instrumental

She was let down
By the man she thought was her last chance
Self pity was something
That had no place in her heart
She might start

a very lovely sad song. the words are great and emotive and i like the guitar playing

Beautiful song, Willie. The guitar leads are soaring, and the rhythm is jangling. Together with the vocals, it's a potent combination.

Loved it.

The vocals, the lyrics. The composition. It's all there. The only thing i was occasionally missing especially considering how refined the song already is was some melodramatic drumming. Not necessarily dry country kit, but instead a huge echoey "80's ballad" type of thing.

The song has been playing on my head the whole day. I hope i don't turn into one of those big hearted lonely heart guys. I'd rather go hanging from the rafters (And i don't mean anything drastic, i mean... Doing it like the Tarzan).

I dig it Willie, once in a while I need a good country nugget and this hit the spot! Great guitars and vox as usual.

I misread, oltan'spost andkept expecting a huge fill and giant AOR drums. I didn't miss them.

Lovely song and lead playing.

What a beautiful, poignant ballad.  That Les Paul just sings.

Vocal - and harmonies - are just spot on.

The only country thing that is missing from this is my dog ran away LOL very nice composition and playing

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

I heard this and really love the guitars.  Then I heard it again whilst ereading the lyrics.  The song then went off the charts for me...

Such poignant lyrics, a sad melody, and a 6/8 time signature are a perfect match. Very moving and emotional song and performance, Willie. Reminds me of early Eagles, perhaps.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.
