i wrote this on my jasmine acoustic and probably should have just recorded it live in the living room. however i ditched the jasmine got out me tele and probably over iced the cake.

Anyway it is what it is.

Up-date, i sent Blooby a mix minus my lead guitar part for him to solo over, here is the result.

Everybody's talking really fast
Waiting for the die to be cast
No one really knows what they mean
We'll always be in the dark
How the words just tumble out
Said as if there isn't any doubt
No one knows that they're confused
We'll always be in the dark
You'll never get the answer
If you don't know what to ask
If you don't have a question
You'll always be in the dark
You'll always be in the dark
Sometimes we just can't understand
The meaning of the matter in hand
Do we ever listen when we should
we'll always be in the dark
You'll never get the answer
If you don't know what to ask
If you don't have a question
You'll always be in the dark
You'll always be in the dark
you'll always ......

Doesn't sound overcooked to me, Sounds nice and simple and ethereal. That message is great and hits the spot very powerfully. Loved that theme and the words ring so true.

Nice and ethereal. Stereo/delay guitar sounds good! Preset 22 of MBR, I suppose...

Fine job, James!

The Tele adds a nice Indie jangle that would be missing with an acoustic, so (to my ears) it really works. The whole thing is still stripped back, so not over-iced at all. The solo melody part is charming and perfect for the song. I really like the fragile, gentle vocal and thought-provoking lyric. It's a belter!

I'm enjoying this one too bud, sounds great! Liked the high part "You'll always be in the dark", very cool.

Cool atmospheric track with a relevant message in the lyrics.

Very alternative  with its genre style, dark and moody track, tele is ideal for those guitar parts, good lyrical theme

Thank you again, James, for the invite to plop a solo on this lovely tune. I was just telling my visiting brother how much I love your voice.

I can remix the guitar louder if you want (or start from scratch), but I wanted the solo to sit within the droney nature of the song rather than on top of it.

Thanks again.

Peace.
