It's a song about some of these so called "stars" who have been going on too long and still think they're in their hey day. perhaps they weren't that good to start with, but they've somehow made a living from it..and should really call it a day..but refuse to haha.

LYRICS

The question is, how did this situation..seem to arise?
You used to be, top of the tallest tree
you had it all..you had first prize
But now your getting older, your star has lost its shine
You're just maturing wine

But now this dog has had it's day
You've used up your luck..and now it's time to pay
Well, this dog has had it's day, (lie down)
I guess it's time to be put down

Every dog has had it's day..(Hey,Hey)
Every dog has had  it's day

The question is, how did this star shine so bright so long?
A one trick pony, you sure had the time of your life
But now you're getting older..and the taste don't seem so sweet
The truth is calling you..but you refuse to see.

Every dog must have it's day (yeah yeah)
You've used up your luck..and now it's time to pay
Well, this dog has had it's day, (lie down)
Now it's time, it's time to put me down

Every dog must have it's day x 3
now it's time,  it's time to put me down

Every dog, every dog ,every dog ,every dog, every dog, every dog
(Repeat to end.)

Sweet track guys, it has a Pete Ham penned Badfinger track. The chorus is stellar as are the vocals. Cool guitar too!

wooooooo hoooooooo this is great .... love it to the moon and back...

your subject matter is mostly why I prefer audio over video.... some years ago I saw an REO Speedwagon video in a store... and the band wasn't looking their best... but I thought I really didn't need to see that...

my plan though is to run as fast as I can, as far as I can, as long as I can.... keep up or pass it's ok...

I think your music here is splendid... I loved hearing the dog bark too... what a great track.

mesmerizing and hypnotic and grinding guitar work with the bass and drums.... it is a thing of beauty Darren

Epic production, Darren and mixed to perfection. Keith's vocal is great as always and what a brill idea for the subject matter. Love the guitar work. Maybe I had my day - only thing is - I missed it.

I never really had a heyday, but I refuse to call it day LOL. Another cool song here guys. Nice production. Cool lyric and a catchy chorus. Incidentally I recorded a song called "Every Dog Has It's day" . Great minds and all that!

Wow, love this! The vox sound like Lennon and the harmonies back it up even more! Great playing with such a nice bass line with that soaring lead guitar.

Proper creation!!

I agree with Mark...Lennon sounds. Vocals are lovely.
