Its snowing so nothing can be done on the garden so why not go down the cellar and have a ponder...and of course get Edie the acoustic out and let her join in with the pondering...Thanks for listening
we listen the news, but do we believe it
The words are spoken they  pretend to be wise
All the sheep take  their eyes of the prize
So Who's left to read between the lines

When we know that the politicians are self seeking
We watch their lips move but who's is really speaking
We know the moneys really in control
So what's their plan what in the hell is that final goal

We watch and listen to the lies of war
We know that its wrong but we close the door
Our fingers in our ears our hands over our eyes
We hear no evil, we're told no lies

When we know that the politicians are self seeking
We watch their lips move but who's is really speaking
We know the moneys really in control
So what's their plan what in the hell is that final goal

We've got half the world moving in on us
The cost living is spiralling totally out of control
We see the ruin of the inner cities around us
People can't afford to feed their children when of school

When we know that the politicians are self seeking
We watch their lips move but who's is really speaking
We know the moneys really in control
So what's their plan what in the hell is that final goal

We see the ruins on the television screens
whats it matter its so far away
it won't happen here unless we' re being betrayed
Were on the winning side that's what the papers say

When we know that the politicians are self seeking
We watch their lips move but who's is really speaking
We know the moneys really in control
So what's their plan what in the hell is that final goal

So Open your eyes and try to see what's going on
Uncover your ears and start to hear all those lies
Open your mouth and protest against the wrongs
Stand up and join in the song
So Open your eyes and try to see what's going on
Uncover your ears and start to hear all those lies
Open your mouth and protest against the wrongs

I am really diggin this one Trev... the words and singing are brilliant and actually remind me of something Frank Zappa would sing.  Not only somewhat lyrically (although that could be more Pink Floydish) but the vocalizations are very Zappaish... and that is cool...

guitar sounds great and the recording and production are excellent in headphones... love it..

Brilliant Trev. Such a great message, I have to concur with just about everything. So sad, to me it seems like relatively recently things have got totally out of control. I think politicians years back at least seemed to believe in what they themselves said, to a point anyhow. These days they all seem to say absolutely anything that might get them a step ahead of the other crowd. Great tune anyhow, really enjoyed it, excellent performance and you do seem to be able to knock them out at will. Damn wish I could do that :)

Damn, when those double tracked vox came in I woke right up! The recording/mixing here is fabulous, you are a pro. A protestive modern folk masterpiece!

Off topic (Or maybe on topic): If you covered a Kingston Trio song I would frame it. Except Tom Dooley, don't like that one. How about Greenback Dollar!

Anyway, this rules!!

Cool protest song, Trev and those lyrics ring so true. That double-tracking on the chorus is stunning - great idea and nice clear recording.
