The wife has gone to London on the train to see an old friend the kids are busy doing their own thing and I'm on my own down in the cellar and this one came out......
I don't know what it is
The reasons I can not see
But there has to reason
For the making of you and me
Now Is all a joke
With a punchline I just don't get
Everyone else seems to be smiling
No one else can see the thread
Tomorrows just a day oh it comes and it goes
Seeping into the future without a planned un composed
No one one seems to want to change  it
No one really knows
What the hell is going on
The only thing I  know Is were all on our own
We're on our own
Yeah We're on our own
We are all on our own

They tell us a story to show us all  the way
They tell you If you believe the big book it will keep your fears at bay
But others like me well we don't believe a word
We stubborn we're not going to be part of the herd
We question every thought
Everything we've been taught
The only thing we know is We're on our own
We're on our own
Oh yeah yeah we're on our own

We born alone, we die alone
But we share what's  in-between
we love we learn about each other and the whole dammed scene
Will we ever know the truth  do we ever see things for real
Is perception just a joke,
life the turning of a wheel
Or is the questioned asked and the answer told with our last breath
Till then We're on our own
We're on our own
We are on our own

I can't tell if that is an electric guitar or an acoustic...or maybe it's an electro acoustic...it's very crispy sounding......very strong vocal ....love it .......shouldn't you be out tending to the sheep?

It amazes me how you just knock these great songs out so easily. Never over-produced or laden with gimmickry - just simple accompaniment and great vocal along with cool lyrics.

It's an acoustic Dave through the keeper with a Mr Britt plug in

That cellar is filled with so many songs! I wonder if it will once be turned into a museum kinda like they did with the Motown's studio. The place where songwriters can sniff the air and come out with a song.

The piano loves you and the guitar fits you like a glove. It's a combination that seems to always work for you.

Thanks for putting ideas into my head (the lyrics).

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

I'm feeling left out because I've no sheep lol.
Playing this after my run to work in the car.
It's a crystal clear recording.
Acoustic sounds great and that panned guitar sounds fab.
Thought provoking lyrics,I personally don't know what to believe in this world anymore.

Another great slice of songcraft! I love the delicate additions of piano and strummy guitar. Excellent lyrics, a bit foreboding but this is contrasted nicely by the upbeat music. Very nice!

A cracker Trev, i love the mellow chilled vibe you zoned into here. Lyrics are on the money for me, thoroughly enjoyed that.
