I see you have a broken wing
A mosaic of coloured troubles
A broken will and that broken home
You climbing out from the rubbles
And now you ponder the how's and why's
No contact with each other's eyes
Why it took so long to realise
As the glow starts to fade
You just weren't made
For each other.

I see you have a heavy heart
Rambling thoughts evading capture
Trying to maintain the status quo
With everybody looking at ya
And that fragment of sensory love
Could never ever be enough
And when push finally came to shove
You rained on your own parade
And you just weren't made
For each other.

I see you stumbling around drunkenly
Like a child wearing her mother's high-heels.
Sure the bottle offers some respite
Oh, baby I know just how that feels.

But don't sweat it, babe forget the illusion
Don't go for the operatic conclusion
Just another bad intrusion
Come back to where you should've stayed;
You just weren't made
For each other.

I like these kind of acoustic guitar based songs that you do so well.  Also love the Latin feel.

By and large, jazz has always been like the kind of a man you wouldn't want your daughter to associate with.

OK to cover but please let me know first.  Thanks!

Masterful arrangements here Ray! That acoustic guitar is so beautiful and the Latin style solos are so tasty. I love the intimacy here, along with the odd slide of the fretless bass. Heartbreaking lyrics and soothing vocal. Love it!

Holy heck man, you are a fantastic acoustic player.......I am in awe of the playing here....and the recording is so good....no string squeak at all....I am struggling to get good recording with acoustic guitar in this fingerstyle approach......I stand in rapt attention and in awe at what you have crafted........I may go so far as to say this is so fine.......my new favourite from you.......really well done......

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

The acoustic guitars sound wonderful Ray. This is great songwriting. The words, your vocal, and the arrangement are all right on the money!

another great Ray song... yesterday my sister walked into the room while I was listening to the latest list on SC here.... and it just so happened this was playing... she says to me... "I like that one"...

I said "of course you do, that is Ray from Australia" and then added that I doubted there were too many people on the planet that wouldn't like your songs... and she has heard others and so has my brother and son and wife and they don't always like (most times don't like) my songs, and other songs as well that I listen to... but they all like yours when they hear them...

when you got it... you got it.

Beautiful gentle but insistent melody. Some amazing guitar playing but really tasteful. Beautiful song i will be listening to again.

Another wow comment from me, Ray.  I love the acoustic playing here - and the acoustic bass is so classy.

A very fine song indeed.
