Ive been laid up on my back with a muscle spasm in my back which left me peeing in a bucket unable to get off or move from the settee for a week but I'm now on the mend thanks to some strong anti-inflamitory's. I've been trying to work on my album for this years RPM about Aging I'm only four tracks in and times running out but I managed to sit in the studio chair this morning and come up with this one.....thanks for listening
There once was a time I could shake it all
Baby you got to believe
I was the man in front of the crowd who could dance
Oh mani was fast with my feet
But Now those days have gone for real
Ive got nothing left to give
All I got is this memory inside my head of what I used to be
Of what used to be
of what I used to be
of what I used to be
of what I used to be
I was free like the wind I could blow blow blow
I was almost every night gone
High as a kite I flew on up to the sky
Out into that blue
I knew what I wanted
That the sun is what I need
Now I sit alone in my chair looking out from the window seat
I see, I see no body

It think about what it used to be

what it used to be

what it used to be

what it used to be

what it used to be

what it used to be

Break

I still feel the beat within my bones
I feel the rhythm in my soul
But age has got me bad I can't move I'm getting old
I just sit and think about what's in my mind what life was like before

what it used to be
what it used to be

what it used to be

Break

There once was a time I could shake it all
Baby you got to believe
I was the man in front of the crowd who could dance
Oh mani was fast with my feet
But Now those days have gone for real
Ive got nothing left to give
All I got is this memory inside my head of what I used to be

what used to be
what used to be

what used to be

what used to be
Break

Man its bad getting old
Man its bad getting old
Man its bad getting old
Man its bad getting old␌␌

I hope you feel better soon. Love your intros..they're better than most songs alone lol.
This sounds great trev. Funky vibe to it, some cool guitar licks, really like the fx on the rhythm guitar.
Great vocals (with effect) and lyrics.
The album sounds it'll be interesting.
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

I'm no friend of back pain because I know it all too well. I hope you continue to get better Trevor. I like the funky wah wah vibe on the rhythm guitar and your soloing. I hear a tinge of Mr. Plant in your vocals which is cool! It is hell getting on in age... This is a great "All I got is this memory inside my head of what I used to be". It's so true. Well done and I look forward to the next one!

Cool track, Trev the lyrics are brill and that vocal is stunning. Hope that back problem goes away and I know there are few things worse.

Feeling your pain Trevor. I only got severe back pain once but I have never forgotten it and pray it never comes back. Great piece of music, so off the cuff and spontaneous. This actually feels like a long lost Woodstock performance to me. Belting it out, heart on sleeve. Fantastic.

Very cool. Lot's of excellent stuff going on, and really digging the spiky & funky guitar work. That deep guitar part sounds like droning Gregorian monks, and sounds so good - really adds atmosphere. And an amazing lead vocal (of course). Superb.

Bluesberry

A lost Woodstock track......indeed......and I agree, getting old sucks

Very lenny kravitz meets Robert plant.
You've got to admire a guy writing an album about aging and playing while he has put his back out.
Kick that ageism butt.
Excellent track, you pull these gems right out the hat.
Well done.
