Keith got the idea for the lyrics from the annoying use of grammar these days by the "younger, fashionable, hippy kids" who always start their sentences with "So.."
i know what he means, it is really annoying. :-)

So and So

   •   So you like, to start your sentence
So start your sentence with a so, so, so....So!
Is it fashion, so is it trendy?
So it's not grammar that I know, know, know, know, know
No no no no...oh

   •   So don't you bore me, so don't insult me
So don't you start it with a so, so, so...so
It don't impress me, it only stress me
So much depress me... you so and so

So...so...so....so
You're a so-so ... so and so
So...so...so....so
You're a so-so ... so and so

(INST)

   •   So think in big time, so think in small time
Begin your sentence with a so so so...So...
So was it only in your own mind...it's a no, no go

   •   So don't you bore me, so don't insult me
So don't you start it with a so, so, so...so
It don't impress me, it only stress me
You're only so- so

(CHORUS)
(LEAD BREAK)

So...so...so....so
You're a so-so ... so and so   (x4)

I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

Zoltan

80's influenced pop with a slight hint of funky quirkiness. As if. That's a line that's irksome to me. The whole "as if" movement of the 90's. Yuck...

This so... so... thing is so much more acceptable. And especially in this song where you're putting a bit of The Police vibe into the choruses.

Good stuff!

I totally agree.  So what?

The only thing worse than gratuitous "So" is "whatsupppp".  Very little in my case!  ;)

Really enjoyed listening to this song.  It is "so" catchy - see what I did there?

Makes me think of the great Warren Zevon..........I love tongue in cheek songs like this....with a bite.....watch you don't bite your tongue off ........fantastic song and recording lads.......I notice the younger crew around here all say "no worries" instead of the old fashioned "no problem".........times are a changing and us old farts have a hard time keeping up .....I don't even want to keep up anymore........weird but true.....true dat

Tight, funky rocker! Great mix of clean and dirty tones on the guitars here. Stellar vocal here, the whole thing reminds me of a Talking Heads/poppy 80s King Crimson track (in fact I get a hint of Adrian Belew you go for that high "So" in the chorus!). Awesome song with a killer vocal performance!

So I find this a wonderful questioning of the question of so.

but the Zoltan ref to the Police I found as a reggae vibe... and yes... the Police made it rock and roll cool...
and Rush actually did it too... and I love both.
so man...as great as you always are... this is a tick above the best...
what the hell man.????

this is a corker...a belter... it's like a modern day Beat   Les     but with other stuff mixed in... WICK   ED

Another great track from you two. Brilliantly produced with influences too many to mention. My niece can not utter a single sentence without the word 'like' included. Excellent work, Darren.
