Another afternoon of rain spent in the cellar.....Thanks for listening
Its dark outside and the wind does howl
The rain is coming up through the ground
Down on my knees I'm Partitioning the lord
To save me through these dark times please  once more
Dark is night as black as soot
There's a crash outside      nd the floor starts to flood
The water has an anger I've not seen before
Has levee broke, is at my door
Has levee broke, is at my door

Has levee broke, is at his door

Break

I rush to the window my cold nose against the glass
But I can see nothing of the waters trespass
Just blackness to my eye and the noise of the wind
the sin of the devil as the water floods on in

Just the sin of the devil as the water floods in

The levee has broken all hell has let loose
The destruction of all left for god to deduce
The community gone vanished without trace
Just survivors left without gods grace

Just survivors left without gods grace

The night lasts forever will sun ever shine
Will the rain ever stop where does god draw the line
Trapped on this roof top screams silenced by the wind
Alone with the devil who let the waters in

Alone with the devil who's let the water in ␌Alone with the devil who let the waters in
Alone with the devil who let the waters in
Alone with the devil who let the waters in
Alone with the devil who let the waters in
Alone with the devil who let the waters in
Alone with the devil who let the waters in␌

I think you meant "petitioning" – but partitioning the lord is a fascinating phrase – and could mean several things: Separating monotheism into multiple eternally hostile branches? Butchering a slaughtered God into cuts to be consumed? That's a metaphor for something.

It's a really interesting and moody song. I want to hear drums and bass on it – more dynamics, a more layered arrangement. But I also admire your process: Go to the cellar and knock out a song. Maybe come back to it one day. Maybe not.

man, this is cool... how you take an even in your yard and turn it into a really great song... yes...it's moody and dark, as is the lyrics or the song theme... that piano and strings sound great...
really enjoying your different voice sound here too.  Because I have listened to alot of your music I can tell it's you but it is different...
that piano reminds me of that banging song by the great (I feel the earth move, under my feet, I feel the sky tumbling down) Carol King...

You have an albums worth of "songs from the cellar", but considering the often dark and introspective mood of the songs what would they sound if you'd stepped out from that cellar?

Would you turn into a RATT?

This one has a slightly menacing and cinematic mood. Cool stuff!
