I'm hungover like a shirt hanging over a washing line
Guzzling too much cheap supermarket wine
And she rabbiting on looking like a poor man's Marilyn
Skirt hitched up, blouse un-done drunk on pink gin and paraffin

She has some grassy-knoll theories about November '63
None of which matters like jack-shit to me
"So many guys" she cries, "Would've been happy to kill him."
A thousand times she's watched that Zapruder film.

She'll wax lyrical to whoever is nearest
About all her idiot crackpot theories

Theories as pleasant as a spikey suppository
"No shots could be fired from that book depository!"
Like those dime a dozen preachers yelling from the pulpits
Quick to blame anyone and everyone except the real culprits

She'll wax lyrical to whoever is nearest
About all her idiot crackpot theories

So maybe I'm cynical; maybe I'm callous
But I couldn't give a damn what happened that day in Dallas.

What an interesting way to frame this topic. Were it just about JFK, I think there might be a disconnect between the music and lyrics, but the addition of playing off the women makes them fit beautifully.

Tasty outro playing as well. Love that tone.

Ray, the piano and the upright bass remind me a bit of Steely Dan's style, and I like that! The guitar solo has it all; from the tone to the style to the performance. I'm sure Jeff Baxter would approve. The image I'm getting from the story is a guy at a local pub, having some of the hair of the dog, while listening to a bar fly ramble on about a worn out, 59-year-old conspiracy theory. Which is a unique way to present the lyrics. A great song and listen that goes well with my morning coffee!

as good as your music and songs always are, this is a notch above most of them imo...not that i am qualified to critique music but I can state what I like...

the lyrics are full of amazing, interesting lines.  The guitar work is absolutely stellar.  The rhythm is tight.
also a fan!

Just got to be your number one tune from you for me.
The production, lyrics and vocals are excellent but would have liked  it to last longer, just cool!

I read the translation of the lyrics
What a song!

I especially like the bass rhythm and the final solo
Do you use something to double the voices ?
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
