Hello all! It's been a while since I've posted here but I got the inspiration recently to record again. I sort of worked this around when I was playing with my friend Aidan (hopefully I will upload a collabaration we did in a short while). I remebered the idea and recorded it on my own in a couple of days. As per usual as of now, it was recorded on Garageband, it's a lot easier to just use the plug ins than having to mic a loud tube amp all the time. ;)  It feels good to be back around! :D Enjoy...

Fender Stratocaster (for lead and 2nd rhythm guitar)
Epiphone SG Classic P90 (for 1st rhythm guitar)
Danelectro 12 String
Fender Jazz Bass
Shure SM 58
Garageband Drums

Just unwind and let it shine,
Shelter me from all the pain,
The setting sun has just begun,
And September has come again

You're just a summer friend,
I knew from way back when (so long ago),
Let's talk about the past,
You know good things never last,
They always end

Why do they end?
It's all pretend,
My summer friend

I've got a feeling that I may lose control

Drive around the same old ground,
Dream of as it was before,
Look around it's all run down,
Is there much point to this anymore

There is no guarantee,
It's all blown in the breeze (just like the snow),
They talk of living fast,
The good times never last,
They always end,

Why do they end?
It's all pretend,
My summer friend,

When it feels that you are sinking down,
Grad a hold just before you reach the ground and wait till then

(My summer friend)

Welcome back Berrypatch! You've been missed.

It really doesn't matter what gear you use. You're always able to hit it home. The sounds are great and the whole production is high class.

Those vocals are a thing of a beauty. The playing is rocking and cool, but not as enviable as those vocals (because i know that by walking into the crossroads at midnight i might be able get 50% of those playing chops). The Berrypatch sound is in the vocals, and clever songwriting. Then comes all that other good stuff. At least that's my take on this.

Oh, and the lyrics. You've really got the whole package together! A one for the playlist.

Good vox and big reverb sound a la 80s. Polished track - nice one!

Good to hear you back with a new song. This is amazing work as ever. Those guitar licks are brilliant.
The music is really great, has that grunge rock vibe, nirvana springs to mind.
some really catchy melodies, great up tempo feel and excellent vocals.

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Great vocal harmonies and backgrounds.  Has a nice 60s pop vibe.  Great ending!

By and large, jazz has always been like the kind of a man you wouldn't want your daughter to associate with.

OK to cover but please let me know first.  Thanks!

A cool song for your re-emergence BP! All of your vocals are top notch here. I like the way you used the reverb on them. Sort of gives a Beach Boys vibe to the sound. I know what you mean about the hassle of lugging a loud tube amp out and setting up a mic instead of just using some software presets. I'm doing this more and more myself. Your guitars sound is excellent, so why not? You've recorded and produced a winner of a song!
