I can't quite fly right now
They tell me there's more to life than what's going on
They say there's feelings that do not hurt
They tell me these darks skies will part again
To reveal a blue sky above the clouds
Revealing a blue sky above the clouds

I don't know where I've been or where I'm going to
All I know is my life is in a mess right now
I'm always lying down instead of standing up
My head is certainly not in the clouds
It's all dark inside of me
The rain it falls in my heart
I can't find a way out from this darkness
And Its breaking up my heart

My father says its bad what's happening now
But there's a whole world out there waiting just for me
He says that this is just a glitch in. Life right now
Its testing me out to see what I will be
There's a blue sky out behind the clouds
There's a blue sky out there above the clouds
All i've got to do is learn to fly
But I can't quite fly right now
no I can't quite fly right now

They tell me there's more to life than what's going on
They say there's feelings without the  pain
They tell me these darks skies will part again
Revealing a blue sky that will remain
They tell me those dark skies will part again
revealing a blue sky with out the rain
revealing a blue sky with out the rain

I don't know where I've been or where I'm going to
All I know is my life is in a mess right now
I'm always lying down instead of standing up
My head is certainly not in the clouds
They tell me there's a blue sky up above the clouds
They tell me that sky with out the rain
They tell me all I've got to do is learn to fly
But I can't quite fly right now
But I can't quite fly right now
I can't quite fly right now
But I can't quite fly right now

I dig your reggae/Bo Diddley strumming style on the guitar and the cool vocals, Trevor! The bass falls right in line with the reggae style. Great words of hope for your teenage daughter. Well done!

Love the beat of this song.
The beat is joyful, and cheery, and thus, leading the message of full hope and bright life, just around the corner.  We just need to support and show our love and care to other.
Great message to your daughter, and to all the world.
Thanks for this beauty.

Nice chunky chord playing and counerbalanced by the piano riff. A jolly sounding tune, the lyrics less jolly ;-) but a song of hope nonetheless

Hope it cheered up your daughter..I certainly enjoyed listening to it !

This is really good.  Cathartic and real.
Haven't been on here in a while and I missed hearing great songs like this.

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

StephenM

This reminds me of some very fun music.... the lyrics are a bit melancholic but the music smooths it all over... kind of like essentially what the song is saying... isn't it great that we have music to help us through all this stuff?

I love the dancing keyboard against the (as Farrell called it) Bo Didley strums of the guitar... and the bass dances.

great sampler choice
