The fest songs you failed to do!

Are there any fest songs that you thought of doing, but were giving you so much trouble that they went to the bin instead?

For me one such song is Across the 110th Street (by Bobby Womack). It's a great song and could have been done either as an acoustic performance, or with a fuller arrangement. The thing is that i 100% suck with those vocals

I'm still occasionally trying it out, but lyrical lines like "You don't know what you'll do until you're put under pressure" turn into a horrid mumble when i try to sing, or speak them. I can handle the first part of the line, but as soon as i'll get to the "you're put under pressure" it goes haywire.

This came to mind when i visited some old songs of mine that i never finished. One such song is  called Skateboards and Girls In Rollerskates. It's kinda Beach Boyish, but when i sing the word Skateboards it sounds more like Gay sports and Girls in Rollerskates

I still hope to complete "Spirit is the Journey" by Juluka, for the "Lost in 2019 Fest" (for Johnny Clegg, who died in 2019). I can't wait to bore you all with the long story about why I didn't get to that at the time.

Jemimas Kite have a unfinished Eno song for the Roxy Music fest from a while back, Kings Lead Hat. It only needs bass guitar, I intend to imprison our bass guitarist in the next few weeks in order we complete it. A bit late but as they say better late than never.

Yes... I think I probably have quite a few aborted efforts. The Roxy Music fest I wanted to do something but there wasn't a single song of theirs I could strum along to on guitar sadly. The chord progressions were beyond me. Similar story with the Bee Gees, their songs had wicked chord progressions... and that was before you even started with those vocals!

Well, damn! I stand corrected! I was AWOL throughout that time frame.

Ha! Sorry guys for bringing up an "unintended drama and water under the bridge" (I have a headache so i'm feeling dramatic today... ).

No drama here. There was some initial skepticism about an Amnesty Fest, but apparently it wasn't as "nixed" as it seemed at the time. But 11 months later when it was put up for a poll as "Past Fest Revisited," I was not active on this site. I'd love for there to be another "Past Fest Revisited" fest.

ive been absent for long stretches of time since ive joined. so... yes i do have fests i could post to. and an Amnesty Fest would always get my vote
