The ghost that rides the tides between my heart and yours
Wails mournfully in the lonely nights
So I wander through this house; pour scotch and walk the floors
Gaze out at cold city lights

A 'Night Watch' of stranger's faces surround me on the street
May as well be made of slate and stone
Well meaning friends have someone I have to meet
But I still have your number in my phone

Even now I can't believe you're gone
Is this what they call moving on

Your boyfriend now, calling me from a drunkard's bar
Tries to tie me up in verbal knots
I feel like I'm running alongside the President's car
Waiting for the fatal shots

Even now I can't believe you're gone
Is this what they call moving on

Wow, what a great song. That guitar tone is as "juicy" as it gets! Vocals, everything, love it! 8)

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

man dude... I hope you haven't personally lived this gut wrenching reality....
incredible playing, song writing, vocals, lyrics... totally pro production....
it's a smash hit...and it would make an incredible track for a movie scene...or TV
I feel incredibly blessed to hear your music... love the harmonica toward the end and that wonderful blend of voices....STELLAR!

you can call me anything you like.  Just don't call me late for dinner

Sultry and moody. It has the late-night bluesy feel of a movie soundtrack, and the lyrics just heighten that kind of atmosphere. That harmonica that came in about 2:30 totally blew me away - incredible!

Amazing quality work and performance again.

And kudos for getting a reference to Rembrandt's 'Night Watch' painting into a song :-)

Excellent job, again!

Nice melody and lead guitar additions create amazing vibe...superb outro as well.

Brilliant singing, too.

Brilliant yet again Ray! Such an ominous vibe to this song, with the lonely guitar lines and crashing cymbals. The lyrics are quite foreboding too. Last but certainly not least that guitar work is mind bogglingly good! The feel, the tone, the playing itself, it's all captured perfectly here. You knocked it out of the park!
