AndyR

Another Songwriting Demo for FAWM 2022

Song number 12.

I had NOTHING. I decided to rest today with so much time left and only 3 to do.

I had this title, but no... rest

But Madame La Muse had other ideas (it's not even about what I wanted it to be about!).

As We Near The End
Words & Music AndyR
--------------------------------
We want to see the sun
Doesn't everyone
We'd like to see the sun
Now we've done
We want to go and play
Maybe every day
We'd like to go and play
Now we've done

As we near the end
Try to catch our breath
We have to wear the smile
You expect
From us
And as we near the end
We'll gladly step aside
Let some other child
Take the ride

We gave up having fun
Doesn't everyone
We gave up having fun
And now we're done
You promised us we'd win
And losing was a sin
You promised us we'd win
If we tried

As we near the end
Try to catch our breath
We have to wear the smile
You expect
From us
And as we near the end
Let us run and hide
We just need to leave
And
Die

   All that I need
Is just a piece of paper
To say a few lines
Make up my mind
So she can read it later
When I'm gone

This is fantastic and so dynamic of a recording for a LITLR....a great vocal performance and I'm thinking your use of the variable mic distancing makes that possible...nicely done!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Great lyric and really good vocal performance.  I felt a little David Bowie here, and a little bit of the french/francophone "70s chanteur" thing.   Artful, dark, and lovely.
