Hi all its been a while but I'm back in the cellar not permanently yet but its getting close to the end of the build. Here's my first for the RPM this year thick old fingers plunking at the piano not sure what its about but its a start..... Thanks for listening
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Loud is the hallway clock
Loud, the hallway clock
it's gone midnight and I'm lonely
it's gone midnight and I'm afraid
it's gone midnight and I begin to hallucinate
That you are here with me
That you are here with me

I can hear the wind blow singing your name
Suddenly there's a silence that's slowly sending me insane
I know, its me to blame
As I ponder on those memories of yesterday
That wurr there way inside my brain
I can't forget, what was said and done
Im going out of my mind
Slowly
The tick of the clock
slowly, slowly,
the tick of the clock is slowly driving me,
back
back to that day
the tick of the clock causes me pain
that's all I hear
That's all I hear
That's all I hear
the tick, of the clock
the tick, of the clock

My mind races for words of forgiveness
Knowing there are none to come to mind
That there are no words to explain my crime
There's just the tick of the clock
There's just the tick of the clock

Loud is the hallway clock
Loud is the hallway clock
it's gone midnight and I'm lonely
it's gone midnight and I'm afraid
it's gone midnight and I begin to hallucinate
That you are here, with me
That I'm not alone with this clock
Inside my mind all I can hear is the tick, of the clock
All I hear is the tick of the clock
the tick of the clock

NICE!!

It kinda doesn't matter what it's about, the words you use always paint pictures, and your delivery (vocal and instrument) always sparks emotional responses for me.

I love the insistent "diddle diddle" in the piano part, and the tick tock, and the ock of clock.

I'll have to go and actually read the words now!

Is just a piece of paper
To say a few lines
Make up my mind
So she can read it later

The mystery in the lyrics is what makes it interesting... we can understand and feel the pain but of course we want to know what it is truly about. But therein lies the magic. Great tune, great atmosphere created and yes a touch of Meat Loaf in that voice. Great stuff Trevor.

I agree with mike about sounding like a meatloaf song. This is great Trevor. I love your piano melodies. Your lyrics are always interesting and love your vocals and delivery.

It's good to hear you and your music Trevor...welcome back. Good words, singing and piano. The recording may be sparse but it's very affective. Your fingers work much better on the piano than mine do...nicely done!

Brilliant Trev!  Stripped back and emotive.  Love the crystal clear recording of you vocal and the lyrics are captivating as always.

Drew me right in from the first panned tick & tock. Sounds like you're tickling those ivories just fine to me.

Nice one, Reg!
