RIP, Meat Loaf - way too young.

I wasn't a big fan of his music, but there was no denying his talent. His 'Bat Out of Hell' album got constant airplay on FM radio when I was a teenager. The fact that he was able to have an acting career as well was no mean feat.

Rest easy, Michael.

I still think Bat Out of Hell is brilliant entertainment. Were I ever in a full band again, I would push to cover "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth."

My brother still likes to tell the story of him seeing Meatloaf from the front row one evening long ago. He and his now wife were sweat upon profusely.

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

The only album that came out that summer.  He was a bright and glorious star that was also entwined with Jim Steinman.  They needed each other.
This was a huge performance.  One in a lifetime.  You cannot repeat that ....ever

Well he made a hell of an impact that's for sure. A huge character that belted out some classic tunes.
