I have seen this JP.  He was an innovator as well as a guitar genius.  He figured out how to make a good living playing at a time it was very hard to do. 
I am glad they named a great guitar after him that sooner or later almost every guitar player either owned or played.

Yep, Les Paul was way ahead of his time by figuring out how to layer tracks on multiple tape machines. I've had a 1976 Les Paul Natural Custom with gold hardware for many years and it still plays like a dream...I just wish my skills were half as good as Les Paul's were. He's a real recording innovator and guitar legend!
