Sad to hear Burke Shelley has passed away... although I never listened to them much as a kid I have investigated and enjoyed their music from time to time over more recent years and found them a brilliant band.

The only Budgie song I'm familiar with is their 1975 cover of "I Ain't No Mountain" by Andy Fairweather Low. I have the 45 RPM single. The B side is "Honey" (written by Tony Bourge and Burke Shelley).

In fact I have a story. When I was a young teen (probably 14), I went to see Budgie. Burke Shelly threw his denim shirt out to the audience, and I caught it! I was elated as it was the only gig trophy that I ever got. I brought it home, and my mum said it was so smelly and so skuzzy that she made me put it in a bucket outside and refused to let it in the house.

I guess I owed him a shirt, although I think he was pissed off with it for some reason.

Budgie nor Burke Shelly weren't known to me until now. This group was a fantastic band on the order of Led Zep and other metal pioneers of the early era. Thanks for posting up these videos! I'm gonna look for some more. RIP Burke Shelly...way too young to pass on.
