This is for all you folks that use guitar pedals live or in the studio and have to fight with the noise that's generated from the chain. A month or so ago I got so fed up with the noise (hiss) from my pedal board, ruining a good take (even though I have a gate in my chain), that I went in search of something simpler and better. I have a couple of noise gate pedals but I can never get them dialed in perfectly so they will eliminate the noise without affecting my sound or tails of the signal. I came across a pedal, made by ISP Technology, called The Noise Decimator. I watched a few video reviews and I was sold. It's very simple with an in and out jack and one rotary knob to dial out the noise and it really works well! It's a bit expensive at $120 US or more (I found mine on a discount sale). I placed it at the end of the chain and with three tweaks of the knob the noise was completely gone. I was using my Epi Casino with P90 pickups, which is one of my nosiest guitars but I love the tone, and the noise was gone instantly. I usually have to position myself as far from my recording desk as I can just to get something I can work with. The Decimator allowed me to sit right next to the desk and monitor all the controls and I didn't have to do any post track work to remove any hiss. I highly recommend this noise gate pedal to anyone that has a need to remove noise. I wish I had found this years ago....my recording life just got easier. I'll try to attach a picture of the pedal.

BTW if you want to hear the results, I used it on the slide guitar work on my last collab called Roller Coaster

Got to check one out

I love the tone of my p90s Revstar. But noisy. Also, strats in the 1-3 or 5 positions.   I also have a gate which I find it's good on some rythym parts. But not so much on leads.

Ted

I stumbled onto this video today.

Apparently you should not use the Decimator when communicating with dead celebrities. Good to know.

Lol, that is funny Ted! I wonder if I could use the Decimator to tune out my wife's yackety yack?
