A song meant to cheer yourself up when you're depressed.
Toontrack EZ Keys & EZ Drummer 2, Trilian Bass Module, NI Session Strings Pro 2, Mini Dizi Flute

So you don't know where to start
Cos there's something that your heart
won't grasp
Well, it's not an easy thing.
Like a puppet on a string
you're left dangling

So many people all around.
The sound of their happiness abounds
It cuts so deep
But like a dog without a home
you stay wandering all alone
Why are you sleeping?

It's not as though you live a life so tragic
living on the other side of dreams
And there is just so much abuse you'll stand for
You don't have to dodge the stones

Sometimes the thoughts don't come to words
you're feeling
Given to another time of pain
It's just that they can't seem to learn your meaning
and feelings are just left out in the rain.

Another well crafted song and tracks John. Good production. Your bass plug-in sound like a real bass. Well done

Oh yeah, like this a lot.

I love that vocal pause between "It cuts" and "so deep".

Cool song, cool arrangement. Lovely clear production.

Nice one :)

Second listen - first 20-30 seconds just pulls you in. Can't ask for much more than that of a song/recording.

I'm an oldie, but I do have the (apparently) modern "meh, move on" mentality if something doesn't grab me almost immediately (actually, I'm not sure it is that modern!)

I tend to listen a bit longer than the 20-30 on this site because we're all kind of song crafters together supporting each other.

This one would have survived my listening in a different environment - those first 20-30 seconds just cried out "something to listen to here".

This a cool song John.  I just love the chord progressions you use and the really sophisticated melodies the you twist through them. Soulful lyrics too, delivered in your quite unique melancholy style.

Brilliant.

Another fine composition from the master songwriter JohnBee. You have totally nailed that particular 70's - early 80's songwriting style. The vocals, production and songwriting are classy. There's a touch of fusion jazz and also a bit of quirkiness to this one. This one sounds like an album track. Brilliant stuff!

Hi, I listened twice and really enjoyed.  Great composition and my impression is you are very skilled at using those virtual instruments because it sounds good, especially the bass.  This song kind of reminds me of some of the softer songs by "Yes"

Another strong song John to join the many others you have crafted... consistently high quality. This is very wistful but very pretty too. Enjoyed this a lot.

Oooo, I dig this brother. Really like how you develop the production in the bridge to the end. Nicely done.
Rock on!
