John and I have been making an effort to try and create (and apparently drink) a bit more regularly. We did this yesterday, and I finished the solos and first mix a few minutes ago.

Especially great lyrics by John.

Peace.

Blooby

A Simpler Time

Stumbled upon words I'd written
When I'd had a much younger mind
I wondered at the wonder that I'd expressed
Questions from a much simpler time

There were words about trees
And rain on the leaves
And the nature of time and space
About colors and sounds
About love lost and found
About beauty, hope and grace

I look back and wonder
What happened
To the curious questing youth
Unbounded aspirations
Fueled by inspiration
Unspoiled by hard won truths

The words showed me the world
Through the lens of that younger mind
But clouds of disillusion
Obscure that simpler time

Promises unredeemed
Unrealized dreams
Broken and left to decay
Can wonder survive
Or will it wither and die
Grow up and forget how to play

What's cast aside
As we order our minds
With the wisdom that comes with age
What do we forget
What of us is left
In passing from simple to sage

Times I find myself seeking
The innocence of that younger mind
Only to be left mourning
The passing of that simpler time

My brother's, I want to create and drink with you both also. Sad times but what a great, reflective song. Love the lyrics and the vocal is spot on. Excellent work.
Rock on!

Driving, soulful fusion(?) - Hey whatever the genre, I dig this vibe and presentation - I felt I was back in a jazz club in Manhattan Beach!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Good tune Blooby. I really like the keys. That drum beat had my toe tapping the whole time bro.
It ain't pretty being easy.

Okay to Cover

I enjoyed this. Jazzy. Like that lead near the ending. Are those live drums?  Real tight
Good work

What a brilliant vamp going down here.  Absolutely love this.  Vocals and guitar are fab as usual.  Love the hammond stuff too.

Some lovely lyrics and I love the song idea. This is hard to put a genre to, which is always a good thing for me. A little jazzy but a little trippy and psychadelic also for me too... a curious mix but works wonderfully well. As always top vocals and some super tasty guitar.
