Hi all, it's raining so it must be a day to play.  A bit of a sore throat today so a longer solo. Hope you enjoy.    Willie

Epiphone Les Paul. Fender Precision BR900cd Drums

The work is hard, the day is cold
Guess I'll be here 'til I get old
I got the tempo, I got the feel
Everyday just working, just working at that mill

Heavy loads they break my back
We got less men  now but just bigger sacks
I got the tempo I got the feel
Everyday just working just working at the mill

My daddy a man of no joy
He worked here since he was a boy
He never smiled, he hardly spoke
He kept the big wheels turning
And never mind the smoke

Instrumental

Now my friend Gus fell into his machine
Been up all night been serving gasoline
He got the tempo, he got the feel
Everyday just working just working at the mill

He got the tempo, he got the feel
Everyday just working, working at the mill

for a minute I thought Tom Petty had come back to life...wow... and when I was reading you were soloing longer I immediately reached for the volume up button....
cool drum prog too... and the bass...is hypnotic!
inter(stellar) guitar work...reaches for the heavens and beyond...
cool lyric idea too...another great story...

after my Navy career that is what I do...working at the mill...lol

Oh this is great Willie, love the hook and it takes me down memory lane - my husband started his working life at the Mill  :)

You inhabit your own musical world on this site (and beyond). I love how your songs are all part of an identifiable (but always improving) lineage. You should be super proud of your catalog, and this tune fits in so well with my sentiment.

Another great song, great music and songwriting.
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

Nice change of feel here Willie. I really like the underlying riffs and groove of this one, it's quite heavy and really suits the lyrics. You can do a longer guitar solo anytime, I enjoyed this one! Very nice work all round.

Excellent stuff willie,I could visualise Bruce Springsteen covering this.
A great polished professional sounding track.
Bravo sir.

Like Blooby said, you have a real sound that is very recognizable on here but always find a way to make each song sound unique. I love the harder edge you took on this track and the lyricism on this track is very strong. I don't mind a longer guitar solo :) especially when it's as tasteful as this one.
