It's been a little while since I posted a new song. Been working with my band the Stubborn Stains. We have a 6 song release in March. This is a new one. Hope you like it.

Thanks for listening,
Sandy.

As requested, here are the lyrics:

Heavy Load
by Sandy Gritt

Take me out
Show me what it's all about
So there will be no doubt
when you hear me shout tonight

Now the trees are red
Just like the old man said
Running through my head
When I lie in bed tonight

Feels like a heavy load
Standing on all fours
Turn around, look down the road
Better off to just let it go

Let it go
I think you're better off to let it go

But it could be alright (be alright)
Just like a summer night (like a summer night)
Expose your inner light
If you feel uptight tonight

But it feels like a heavy load
Standing on all fours
Like a heavy load
Turn around, look down the road
Better off to just let it go
But it feels like a heavy load
Let it go

(We like to sing it...together...like this)
Na na na nana na na
Na na na nana na na
Na na na nana na na

(So chill)

Now when you're looking inside
And you're feeling aware
But you're burdened by all your empirical cares
A part of you knows that it's needed to cry
And be such an insightful and sensitive guy

Such a sensitive guy.

Loving the sound you've got going on with the guitars and the harmonica sounding instrument... what is that? It was a heavy load with a nice upbeat groove going on, I throughly enjoyed the ride
Good to have you back Sandy

Thanks Reg. The instrument in question is a melodica that I received for Christmas.

hmmm.....interesting stuff to say the least... it's quite a Greatful Dead feel, even vocally to me....especially on the chorus... very nice.....  cool chord progressions/expressions.... this is quite original to me overall....really different .....very cool stuff.... wish I could come up with better descriptors because I think the song deserves it.... but I can't really put it into words somehow....

Nice cool laid back groove, Sandy. Love that bass line and the melodica adds a nice touch.

The bass intro grabbed me.. Loved it. I agree with Stephen about the Grateful Dead vibe.

Liked how the tune "floats" along. Struggled to hear the lyrics. Maybe post them?

Good luck with the upcoming release! A good thing going here...

Real nice sound Sandy and welcome back! The melodica sounds cool....I actually thought it was a harmonica. Coincidentally I have a melodica that I used for the first time on my last song....it's a fun instrument. I can hear a west coast vibe here. I dig the bass and the overall upbeat style of the song. Well done!
