If you're a Tower Of Power fan (like me) you'll know who this guy is.

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY could lay down a funky bass track like this guy.  Listen to the "machine gun" bass line on "What is Hip?"

Another deep loss to the music world.  :(

By and large, jazz has always been like the kind of a man you wouldn't want your daughter to associate with.

OK to cover but please let me know first.  Thanks!

Yes, a big loss. The guy was unique, talented, and fit TOP's style perfectly. Loved his bass playing.
Been dealing with health problems for years.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

One of my favorite bass players. If people aren't familiar with JohnBee's reference to "What is Hip?," do yourself a favor and check out great lyrics and bass playing. Allem Woody from Gov't Mule got a part of his shtick from Roccio.

Another thing I always really loved about TOP is that, even through many different personnel changes, they always manage to get the best of the best players.
