Yes, sad to hear this. Some unforgettable soundtracks he wrote, a big part of cinema history.

RIP to the master of movie scores. His work on Sergio Leone's Man With No Name trilogy ('A Fistful of Dollars', 'For A Few Dollars More', and 'The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly'), 'Duck, You Sucker', 'Danger Diabolik' and many, many others is monumental.

You know...I was thinking...

This video was recorded last 30th of March, the worst days of Coronavirus in Italy. This young (18yo) guitar player, Jacopo Mastrangelo, played from a balcony over the splendid, sad and desert Piazza Navona in Rome his version of the Ennio Morricone's song from the "C'era una volta in America" (1984).

Many here in Italy think that the three images that will remain in our mind, when everything will be finally over, are the long row of military trucks bringing the victims outside of Bergamo, the Pope praying alone in the desert and stormy Piazza San Pietro, and this guy playing Morricone.

You may understand how timeless, important and FUNDAMENTAL can be an Author when his/her music becomes so important in particular moments of our life.
