Ginger Baker, legendary drummer passed away at 80 today.

Dubbed the 'human combine harvester his style influenced a whole genre of music, though his flexibility meant that he wasn't defined by any genre.

He played with Cream and had a stormy relationship with the bass player, Jack Bruce, later played with Fela Kuti, John Lydon to name just two.

Rest in peace Ginger.

RIP Ginger Baker........His unique jazz (adapted to rock) style of drumming made Cream standout...as did Clapton and Bruce of course.

Went to see the new Joker film yesterday, they used White Room for one of the background piece - this sounded so modern and great.
RIP Ginger - what a legacy!

Sad news. A complex character but an amazing drummer.

I watched the original Farewell Cream programme on TV in 1969 so that dates me! I was only 12 but my older brother was a big fan so made sure this was on our single B&W TV. I probably had to get special permission to stay up late.....

I got to see Cream live. It was an outstanding show.
Hard to believe it was only a three-piece band.
