here is a little explanation on an amternative to a pedal steel guitar

...I don't have a pedal steel (unfortunately) but a simple 6-string lap steel that gives me complete satisfaction considering the purchase price!
It's a Harley Benton Lap steel (79 euro !??)

And by chance I discovered on YT an extraordinary dobroist: Martin Groos, in addition to a game of remarkable precision he often plays in an unusual GBDGAD dobro tuning

the most common tuning of the Dobro is GBDGBD, by lowering the B of the 5th string to A, it has the possibility to make bend on this string which gives a little pedal effect in the guitar style pedal
it's quite difficult to do as well as Martin Groos in terms of the accuracy and action of the finger (major) that makes the bend but it's quite amazing
see the short video for an explanation

if you don't have a lumberjack's hand and fingers, you quickly risk tendonitis to practice this kind of bend!

an alternative would be to use a Duesenberg multibender, on this video we see it mounted on the same harley benton lap steel as mine...

but the price of a duesenberg is 239 euros, which is four times the price of my modest lap steel ...Ooops, it makes you hesitate!
