So sad, met him in Glasgow when he was touring solo to promote his single "homosapien"  at a wee intimate venue called maestros. Just him and a reel to reel tape thingy and it was an awesome gig. Am so upset.

Very sad news. I bought Spiral Scratch around the time I attended my first live punk gig (Damned in Feb 1977), loved the Buzzcocks (and Magazine) ever since that time. The Buzzcocks were inspirational for me not only because of their music but also their DIY approach to getting their music out. They really embodied the punk ethos more for me than bands like the Sex Pistols.

I also enjoyed the Homosapien album which was pretty cool at the time. RIP Pete.
