I am taking part in a small gig in a couple of weeks and dug out a Behringer XENYX 802 mixer as we need 2 mics.
Plugged in the mic to the XLR socket and used a jack lead to connect to a power speaker which resulted in quite
a bad hum. If I plug the mic direct into the powered speaker it works perfectly. Has anyone any experience with
the Behringer 802 mixer ?

Sounds like a lead problem to me , are they all the way in both ends , you can get a hum if they are not correctly fitted into position.

You are right, one of the leads was not quite all the way in.
Thanks for your solution, much appreciated.
