Ed King was a founding member of sixties psychedelic rock band Strawberry Alarm Clock and uncredited co-writer of their 1967 hit "Incense and Peppermints". He was in Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1972-1975 and 1987-1996 and co-wrote their 1974 hit "Sweet Home Alabama" along with Gary Rossington and Ronnie Van Zant.
