I'm rushing this project a bit at the end because we're moving in eight days.  Almost a whole mile from where we are now.
But the studio will be much roomier there. ;D

I dedicate this song about family to my recently married nephew Daniel, a songcrafter, and his bride, Carrie.

The Reason

It's the only reason we breathe in and out
Live in the sun with a shadow of doubt
We get up at the break of day
With things to do and things to say
We look around to see what we see
Take in a movie, watch TV
We might decide to write a song
Make a point, right or wrong
Eat a hot dog and drink a beer
It's the only reason we're here

It's the only reason for reading a book
Fish with a hook, learn how to cook
We say hello and we say goodbye
Kiss on the mouth, punch in the eye
Sometimes we turn to go for a walk
Break a lock, have a talk
It's why we meet and fall in love
Release the dove, pray to above
It's everything that we hold dear
It's the only reason we're here

chorus
Some of us do and wish we had not
Some of us don't and wish it were so
Whether or not it's what we thought
It is not for us to be tested
It's no less than being blessed

It's the only reason we end up in pairs
Living in lairs, learning to share
Then we decide to make a family
We all agree it's who we want to be
Then we make a plan to build a home
A place to come back to whenever we roam
Pretty soon many become as one
From whence they begun, father and son
So continues the unbroken sphere
It's the only reason we're here

chorus

Let it be known, there is a fountain, that was not made, by the hands of men.

I love this one Rolow, well written and so well performed.
I am sure Daniel and Carrie will love this too.
Congratulations to you both.

Beautiful words and beautiful thought to dedicate the song to a young couple. Very nice song. I hope your moving is going alright. I just moved and i tell you it is hard thing to do.  ::)

Greeny

Lovely song. Has such a nice Buddy Holly-esque vibe to it - with George Harrison on slide guitar! Well performed and well mixed - a great listen.

ODH

Nice.  I was getting a Velvet Underground feel.
