The title of this one is the product of yet another vain attempt to come up with a "meaningful" name for an idea that just fell out of my fingers whilst idly noodling in front of the TV. It has no significance other than it just appealed to me. If you live outside the UK & didn't live through the 1970s, then you probably won't recognise the cultural reference in the title... just Google it – it'll make you laugh!

Anyway... the cast:

Cakewalk SI Drums
No-name Bass
Harley Benton Acoustic
Self-built Tele (rhythm parts)
"Blackie" (the new Harley Benton humbucker tele) – Lead & Harmony parts.

And... The Vox Tonelab ST

Thanks for listening :)

Yes they talk, sing and wail. John you have something special here,
love those dual leads and drum breaks near the end.

I survived the 70's but don't know Pike so I watched some on YouTube. We had a comedy in the US with something similar called "Hogan's Heroes." Bob Crane (Hogan) use to hang around a famous Naval bar (Trader Jon's) where we use to play live in Pensacola.

Crikey, JR, that's something. I spent a lot of time in my twenties and thirties trying to play like that, never got close.

The title did bring a smile too.

Love those harmonized runs. I love Thin Lizzy and The Allman Brothers but never think to put them in my own recordings.  Really nice playing throughout.

Back to the woodshed I go.

Extremely melodic despite being technically perfect. Beautiful playing John, and a very cool tune.

Really well done John, just had to look as soon as I saw the title, I was expecting a Dad's Army tune... ;D

Listened to this earlier on my lunchtime walk (its a great way to listen). Great guitar Johnny and a fun piece. I remember 70's comedy, some of it wasn't so good, but I still love Dad's army :-) Don panic and all that! Well no need to panic on this, super playing as always from you.
