A song about growing older. Time goes by quick these days.

My friend Michael Nunley played harmonica,
banjitar and sang this for me. He is such a great singer.
I wrote the lyrics, played everything else and mixed the session.

Mach

Walk in the dark

Turning through the pages in the story of our lives
Into a new chapter before we realize
All the lost days looking for eternity
Just like a walk in the dark so hard to see

A new day for our journey as the sun begins to rise
Aches & pains are calling but you know it's no surprise
There's no need to worry Might as well enjoy the ride
Just like a walk in the dark under starry skies

Give me strength when my time is almost gone
Give me the courage for this road I travel on
And Lord please watch over me as I portray my part
In this life that I live when I walk in the dark

Things they move much faster in this world we call our home
Greys becoming seasoned but there's on thing I've learned
Age is only wisdom you've gained from your race
Just like a walk in the dark you'll find your pace

An excellent slice of Southern Rock Mach and Mike! Michael does have a good voice to go with those smooth harmonies. Some fine guitar work here Mach...enjoyed it!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

I should of run this through the Lurrsen Mastering console to bring out the high end a little more, sounds a bit flat and lifeless. I may try LANDR, although I've heard mixed reviews about the online master program.

Thanks for listening.

Great job and collaboration!  Guitar playing is top notch as always (wish I could get you to play on one of my songs:)
Vibe of the song reminds me of  Mike and the Mechanics "The Living Years".
"Play because you love it. Don't worry about if it will ever make any money, just understand that playing is an end in itself, and you play music, it will make your life better. And, don't worry about being a star, don't worry about making money, worry about nothing, just sit down with your guitar and let it speak to you and that will make your life better. It will bring beauty into your life. It's a great thing to do."     ---- David Crosby
