Took an acoustic ballad I wrote about 5 yr ago, sped up the tempo, added some bass and electric guitar, vcoal harmonies and turned into an up temp folk-rock song.  There are three acoustic and two electric guitar tracks bounced down in the mix.  Would love to hear your thoughts.

Lyrics:

Going Home

music and lyrics by Vance Grazio

Last day of summer, clouds are rolling in.
I feel a change is coming, from somewhere deep within

I've danced this dance quite gingerly, on shards of broken glass.
A world that's built on sand and clay, was never meant to last

Chorus
So I'm, going home (yes I'm)
Going home

You thought you were a part of me, you only knew my name.
The image that you had of me, never fit the frame

Now I'm, going home (yes, I'm)
Going home

 Some things end, some begin
 Winners lose, losers win

Seasons come and seasons go, likewise so do I,
From somewhere deep inside of me, I found the reasons why, I am

Going home
Going home
I am, going home

"Play because you love it. Don't worry about if it will ever make any money, just understand that playing is an end in itself, and you play music, it will make your life better. And, don't worry about being a star, don't worry about making money, worry about nothing, just sit down with your guitar and let it speak to you and that will make your life better. It will bring beauty into your life. It's a great thing to do."     ---- David Crosby

This has a nice open quality about it. Love the mix as well with those vocals so front and center and the acoustics tucked in so nicely. Some of the electrics have an almost Ebow quality to them. Great song to boot.

Nice post.

Indeed... some good choices there. And just shows a little tinkering can work a treat and revisiting songs after a while with fresh ears can open up new doors.

Great song... well performed too.
