The new, incredible ToneBridge app...

I imagined that sooner or later we'd arrive to THIS:

...that IMO is absolutely revolutionary: you don't have to worry anymore about what amp, effect etc. Just plug in your guitar, choose the song you want to play-like, and that's all.

And it's absolutely free. Unbelievable...

You could use a BR-800 or BR-80 as a USB audio interface.

Can't you connect the BR to the iPad's USB adapter? If so, I'd assume that you'd use it the same way as you would on a PC. For the BR-80, see the following document:

http://cms.rolandus.com/assets/media/pdf/BR80WS05.pdf

Or, for the BR-800, see page 121 of the manual.

Update: I just realized that there could be a problem. The BR-80 and BR-800 seem to need the USB driver installed on the PC/Mac in order to work as an audio interface, but there's no driver available for iOS. Without a driver, I'm guessing that it might not work. But it wouldn't hurt to try it.

AFAIK, there's no way to connect a Boss recorder to an iPad to PLAY what's INSIDE an iPad. Of course you may record what COMES out from the iPad.

So, as audio interface FOR THE iPad: an iRig 2 (2, James, NOT the old iRig), Line6 SonicPort, Apogee Jam, Sonuus i2M...

I must admit this is my all time fave app and it's free. Fave thing about it, is you can search it's database for tones for songs and bands. Not every song or band on it, but quite an extensive collection. Deffo something for everyone. Best thing about it is no need for tweaking.

Hmmm... Just seen this. It's fantastic in principle, but my concern is that in the past I've tried the presets purporting to be this or that artist's sound in various amp modellers & FX units. The thing is (to my ears anyway) they never sound anything like what they're supposed to. I remember having one of the 1st PODs that came out & it was a case of "well I've turned the settings to "Marshall" but I'm not hearing "Marshall", if you get what I mean? That Hotel California patch on this was an example of the same... it sounded really thin & fizzy to me... just a personal thing, you understand - it didn't really conjure up Joe Walsh's sound on the track. My Tonelab suffers from this a little too - in order to get a Marshall sound reminiscent of my old Anniversary combo, I have to use a US HIGAIN setting... for the quintessential "UK" amp sound.

Also, the TAB thing is useful... PROVIDING THEY'RE ACCURATE. Ultimate Guitar has a LOT of bad tabs on the site & I wonder if anyone is checking the accuracy of the tabs that get displayed on this app?

That's my two-penneth anyway.
