So... got me holidays sorted. Well a very quick 2 night break that is. My other half and daughter have booked their holidays. The only time my wife can go on hols is June because of her work and unfortunately because of my work i cannot take 10 days off in June. BUT... I have come up with a cunning plan!! : ;D

I am gonna take a quick jaunt up to Bundoran in Co Donegal... a 2.5 hr drive from my town for 2 nights to the Rory Gallagher Tribute Festival. I have never been before and as i am a big RG fan, I think it has to be done...

So I have booked myself into a hotel on Friday evening and i think my plan is to chill on Friday get some grub and take in one of the many Rory Tribute acts in a pub. Then on the Saturday take in as many of the free tribute acts going on until the Main Event that night. Which is 4 acts - Mike Broomfield, Dave McHugh, Sinnerboy (seen them before in London - very good) and Wilko Johnson. The interesting one for me is Wilko Johnson, he is lucky to be alive after having cancer a few years ago. I don't know much about his music as I was always more straight ahead rock but his story has moved me so gonna check him out.

I will post a review in a couple of months.

Sounds like a really good way to spend a weekend, mate. As for Wilko, an album worth checking out is the collab he did with Roger Daltry - at the time of recording. Wilko thought he only had weeks left to live & the verve & spirit he plays with is astounding! Here's the title track:

Hey Johnny, that was a cool track you posted - just some good old fashioned roll the sleeves up, have a good time rock and roll. Nice. I will have to investigate more of that.

Rory Gallagher was the man.......the best blues rock guitarist of them all, of all time....love him.......this tribute fest would be a real good time.  Just soak in all that good RG music.
