Both pretty cool devices, that looper video is super cool even if the song sucks.

DigiTech has announced the new Whammy Ricochet pitch shift effect. I was going to say pitch shift pedal, but the most distinctive feature of this unit compared to the original Whammy is that it has no pedal. Instead, it uses a momentary-contact switch to control the effect. Sounds like a lame idea but it doesn't look too bad in the video. Still, I think I'd rather have a proper pedal.

This looks interesting. It's software that isolates and extracts vocals from a mix. Unlike the things we've seen in the BR series recorders and other similar products which work on the assumption that the vocals are panned to the centre, this product performs a deep analysis of the audio data to identify and extract the melody. It even works on mono sources.

And it can extract melodic instruments too.

It's not cheap though. ADX TraxPro 3.2 is $499 or you can rent it for $32.99/month. ADX Trax is $299 or $19.99/month. And the ADX VVC plugin is $199 or $7.99/week.

Still, it's encouraging that this kind of technology exists. I'm sure other companies will eventually have it too and then maybe we'll see it available at a more affordable price.
