So I wrote & recorded this baritone ukulele part a day or so before voting closed, JazzFest seemed a sure thing. I just got around to adding to it over the last 2 days. The uke is with the irig pickup going through the amplitude app. Drums & muted trumpet are from Garageband. Vocal is the Pyle handheld condenser with the br80 triple effect.

Just A Little Numb
written & performed by Hook
It kind of seems to me to be
a rather dog-eat-dog Society
And I can think of no other deeper truism
then I like to shy away from cannibalism

And don't you worry about me
I heal easily
and no matter what you think you've done
I'm just a little numb

And tomorrow is just another
unfortunate extremity
Each moment just a cell in line
each day a finger on the hand of time

I can take a punch
I can take you out to lunch
and no matter what you think you've done
I'm just a little numb

It's true I cannot feel a thing
My deepest longing is that of true feeling

Have already listened to this one a couple of times because it's so entertaining.  What a creative use of the uke!  Nice job with the garage band tools too.  And the words...?  Very jazzy!

JazzaUkelicious Hook! I've never heard of a triple vocal effect but it sure sounds good. The Pyle Condenser mic sounds good also!

This is so good,
Love the voice, The uke is played brilliantly,
and the trumpet just rounds it off,
Well written and performed....

It starts off with an almost film noir vibe due to that reverbed horn, and then the percussion takes it somewhere else. Jazz uke. Go figure. My only niggle would be I have a hard time hearing your Ubass. Cool ending.

Nice horn solo. Did you wear a dark suit?

This song deserves a re-listen and it's as good as the first time I heard it. Using the Uke in a jazz setting works so well. It has a soft tone that fits with the jazz genre perfectly as does the trumpet riffing in the back ground. But the real shining stars are the lyric and stereo (triple effected) vocals. A nice one Hook and I'm proud to use my 3 thousand post on it.....borrowing one of your terms, it's jazzalicious buddy!
