Getting old stinks ! It really does.

Well I think my memory is going.

I have tinnitus both ears and reduced hearing from working on machine floors when much younger, (nothing to do with being on any loud stages, I insist)

Every morning is a handful of pills to control the heart and arteries (these ones hurt, as they do not permit consumption of alcohol  :'( ) And a few pills for good measure to keep down the osteoarthritis (in the knees, wrists, back).

And now for a month I'm on a no-human-food diet (no pasta, no bread, no rice, no red meat, no cheeses, nothing made with sugars or flour) until some tests are run next month.
Guess that is not a bad thing, losing 1 to 1.5 pounds a day since started it, and I could stand to lose about 50lbs according to the doc.  :P )

In my lack of food delusions am starting to find myself dreaming of going out for tru-blood and chips lately.
Which is a peculiar combination indeed.

Also found myself playing old country (Buck Owens, Johny Cash) and folk/country songs, which really scared me!!!!!!

Also I think my memory is going.

You need to change medication.  I take Atacand and Crestor for that.

After my first major checkup with the cardiac specialist I asked why he didn't tell me I should cut down my drinking...

Doctor:  Will you drink lesss if I tell you to drink less ?
Me: Probably not.
Doctor:  Well there you go.

Crestor is for cholesterol and is one of the 3 pills I take nightly.

I'm on Rampril instead of Atacand

Interesting the different side effects these 2 have  :'(

Hi all, I've got partial hearing in one ear from putting my head near to cabinets to see if all the speakers are working. I've got 3 or 4 prolapsed vertibrae from humping the cabinets around, a touch of arthritis in my back and my hands (that's a bummer) and usually I suffer from musicians thirst which can often be quite debilitating. Joking aside, I find that even on the days when I struggle to put my socks on there are people in far worse predicaments than me...............willie

Ha, we must have been reading (or eating) the same book.  ;D
I'm on a couple of Rabeprazole a day, different manufacturer but for same idea.
And it keeps stomach contents from launching out the hiatus hernia .when you least expect it.

Rabeprazole (brand names: Rabecid, Aciphex®, Pariet®)
Pantoprazole (brand names: Protonix®, Somac®, Pantoloc®)

As I said this getting old stinks, and makes the pharmacology companies wealthy.

I had to look that up on Wiktionary:

Adjective

crook (comparative more crook, superlative most crook)

    1. (Australian, New Zealand, slang) ill, sick.
    2. (Australian, New Zealand, slang) not right, not up to standard

That work you did on my car is crook, mate
Not turning up for training was pretty crook.

Quotations

Other Australian Usage to be sorted out

to go crook at someone, something; to get angry
to be crook at/about someone, something; to be annoyed, upset
crook as Rookwood. To be very sick (Rookwood is the main cemetery of Sydney)
