as I sail these oceans now without you by my side
I have to ride these memories to keep something alive
The warm breeze on that balcony in Seville
With glasses of Rioja or a Tempranillo refill         
On the parks of Paris and the fields in Bordeaux
where the Merlot  that we sought 
would keep things nice and slow

I 'm goin' back to -95
for all the music, love and red wine
We'd lay it all on the line
with no fear of decline
While others brought you roses
I brought you songs and red wine
Maybe, somehow, their persuasive nature
would help me make you mine

But I could not hold on
with the music or even Chianti
But we'll always have those
ancient streets of Greece
and that warm French beach 
where even the stray cats were all nice
We'd feed some in secret
from the waitresses in Nice
