This has one of my favorite choruses I've ever written, so it took me months and various rewrites to finally decide to waste it in a rap song of sorts...and to bury it to the very end of the song so most listeners never even get to hear it....No wonder I ain't more popular!!  :D

Footsteps ring around the corridor
The shadows all come back for more
The walls are white, the drugs are right,
Too bad they just can't stop the war
They're back to black and bathe in my blood
Whisper to forget them, maybe not
I'm sick of fighting, tired of fighting

A clock tick tocks, time to go, it's everything I know,
and so I get up but can't feel the feet no more,
my bad , it must have been
Face down to floor, the blood starts to flow,
I go out cold, too bad, but I'm sick of fighting
so sick...

I'm sick of fighting you
You must be tired of me too
Why can't this nightmare be over?
I'm sick of watching you
make my flesh turn as cold
as the words I once told you

Thought you were my timekeeper
Turned out it was the reaper
But I got the good old gimmick on,
face-paint all wrong and the mask is gone
Back in the white corridors
trespassing the underworld
It was all my bad, but I'm sick of fighting

Fighting the sinister, deadly worms,
who chase me at nights
But that's another song, another band,
another fight, another right for me to do wrong
I try to fight the killing pain,
I look for solace in the blood that rains
but today I'm sick of fighting, I'm tired..

I'm sick of fighting you
You must be tired of me too
Why can't this nightmare be over?
I'm sick of watching you make my flesh turn as cold
as the words I once told you

I can not recognize myself anymore
Hold on, hold on
All the love and dreams have vanished with the war
Hold on, hold on
I can not recognize myself anymore
Hold on, hold on to the pain that it brings

I can not recognize myself anymore
Hold on, hold on
All the love and dreams that vanished with the war
Hold on, hold on
I can not recognize myself anymore
Hold on, hold on to the pain that you bring along

And a brilliant chorus it is!
I find some of the most talented people aren't known and those that are well known depend on the support staff and technology to keep them there.  :D
Sounding great!

SwanSong

This is a super song well constructed and well composed
the vocals work superbly.. over all this song is a winner
cheers NEIL !

I have the same basic audio tools as you. I am trying my hardest to wrap my head around EQ, compression, panning, and levels, and your mixes just crap all over mine. Thanks for giving me something to shoot for (grumble).

Really liking the instrumentation here. That nylon string (or whatever) works really well here and just a cracker of a tune. It has a post-Waters Floyd vibe to it I find entrancing.

I am just gobsmacked over the quality on this site lately.
