Pier of tears

My hometown Dun Laoghaire (Dunleary)has since the middle 1800s been one of the major passenger sea terminals between Ireland and UK for millions of Irish -whether it be to seek work or visit -
I heard it mentioned a while ago that at it's peak -a million people a year would travel  forward and backward through the Harbour-
no more ferries tho' the good/bad  days of sea travel are gone-
Now we have Ryanair etc-fly for a tenner sometimes-
-I read on Fbook that the boat pier had been nicknamed "The Pier of tears" ----never heard it called that before.
Anyway I had this song hanging about -so "Pier of tears" it is now-
