Captor - Lurker & Blooby

Volume:

John (Lurker) and I got together the other day, and we actually attempted to write something from scratch (with scotch...yes, "scratch with scotch").

I'm curious what we have here.

Internal mic on my original micro BR. It overloads a few times, but we were just trying to capture an idea to see if it's worth pursuing.

Heart's Captor

Gently you touch me
With your hair hanging down
I reach up to hold you
But you push my hands down

I look with my question
Are you still wanting me
You smile and you nod
Then take my hand and lead me

You're the one I've been seeking
But it's you who found me
Though you're my heart's captor
You've set my soul free

I've spent my life wandering
From the one to the next
Left a foot by the door
Expecting to fail some test

Never knowing where I fit
Didn't know what to find
I was moving the wrong direction
You came to me from behind

You're the one I've been seeking
But it's you who found me
Though you're my heart's captor
You've set my soul free

You're the one I've been seeking
But it's you who found me
Though you're my heart's captor
You've set my soul free

Exceptional stuff.  Guitar playing is fantastic and the vocals are top notch.  A pity about the couple of bits of dsitortion otherwise it would be a take as it is.

Always check the readhead.

Wow this is super - I really love this tune and would love to hear a full productionized version of this. I think (imo) that the key transition on the "Though you're my heart's captor" is a tough one - and probably needs a steady line as a  backdrop (bass line - unsure?), as it caught me out every time. I love the feel, this is quality of the top kind. Definitely something here, and so needs (deserves) to be finished. There is something in the Scotch down there in Florida!!! :-)

Oh my oh my oh my.

This is something special. I love the rough recording tho it's a pity with the overload (maybe some new AI tool will be able to fix that some day).

The guitar playing is fantastic and the vocals too.

I can hear this playing as the credits roll on some cult movie or tv show.
