I think we all have that problem - I so often mixed a tune, which I think is great - and you listen to the mess next day with a fresh pair of ears. Its a lifetime of learning :-)

Again, I want to thank folks who pointed out the weird panning. Since I've grown quite deaf to this issue myself I certainly wouldn't have picked it up until it was too late.
I went looking for potential problems in my basic setups and noticed today that one of the main Sonar setups had a master channel with a phasing effect set completely wrong, causing heavy panning to the left side in some cases. For some reason it wasn't so bad when played through Sonar itself, but once the songs were exported to wave files it seemed a lot worse. Well, that' s one mixing problem sorted for me, just another 113 546 left to solve now
