Here's a recent song that I'd really like some honest feedback for. Still not sure if it's great, awful or lost somewhere in the sea of mediocrity between. It's gotten a fair amount of listens elsewhere but the comments have been few and rather indifferent. Thanks for listening.

and thanks for the admin who set up the player for mikseri.net. :)

Sail on my sweet girl
Through the solemn seas
Find something right for thee
Stay young in your heart
with wisdom in your mind
when i'm gone

Find all your dreams
Just like I done found you
Send me a sign when you're done
Stay young in your heart
let wisdom in your mind
And send me a sign

Embrace the heartaches
when they show, somehow
and when people find the right lies
that cut you deep inside
and the pain fills your heart
when i'm gone

And sail on my sweet love
Through that storm in sight
And find your way to the calm
Stay young in your heart
with wisdom in your mind
when i'm gone

Nice one Art, well written and performed....
I thought the Vox could be a bit louder, the music drowns it out a bit...
But it doesn't spoil it....
Well done......

Nice guitarpop song, Arto! Very mellow and laidback! The lead guitar works well here. Are the drums real - sounds they are...?

Well performed!

Jangle-tastic! Excellent bit of guitar driven pop. I agree that the vocals could be a bit higher though :)

Great vocals, guitar work, and I like the overall sound. I agree with other comments about the vocal getting a little covered up by other things.  I think that could be remedied by centering the vox in the mix. They sound more to the left side. I like the song!

I like the song. I find it well arranged, I like the drums they're really dynamic. I agree with Farrell, I would like the vocal in center.

Welcome to Songcrafters.

Okay - as you are after honest feedback.

Its a nicely constructed song, well played. Its quiet Dire Straights.

The drums (imo) are too upfront, and the vocals too low. Not necessary too quiet or too loud, but upfront (if you know what I mean). The vocals are a little lost in the mix, and the drums are a little overpowering, try panning, EQ or reverb (to help to sit in the mix) - anyway I may be completely wrong, but that is what I would try. Nothing wrong with the execution or the song writing, that is very good. Hopefully that helps.

yes, that helps a lot, Bruno, and huge thanks to everyone else too for feedback and pointing out the mixing issues. I'm still really blind and deaf when it comes to processing my own music. I tend to go to one direction, then baulk and head for some entirely different approach with the mixes. It certainly doesn't help that I go back and forth between my mellower and heavier projects.
